Is it Dinner time yet!

This burns my ass!

Telemarketing 'do not call' law struck down"

Almost 50 million people voluntarily called in to have their names added to the "Do No Call" list. No one twisted their arms! The phone lines and internet sites were SLAMMED with people rushing to get on this list. And now Judge West of OK has decided that the Federal Trade Commission didn't have the authority to make the Do Not Call" list.

Congress GAVE them the authority!

On Feb. 13, 2003, the Congress passed the Do Not Call Implementation Act, which authorized the FTC to collect fees from sellers and telemarketers to implement and enforce the provisions relating to the do-not-call registry," Muris said. "The president signed this bill on March 11, 2003."

The Direct Marketing Association says that the "LIST" violated their rights under the First and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution.

What about the rights of 50 million people to have their lives uninterrupted by these companies who call during dinner. Or worse yet, who call and then don't come onto the line for several seconds AFTER you answer the phone.

Hopefully we will see a complete uproar after this decision and someone will get it reversed.

Quote from CNN: "No story regarding [Judge] West's decision ... should be considered complete without ... a telephone number where he can be reached during dinner time."
