I was painting my bedroom and bathroom this morning and had the radio blaring. Oldies but goodies!
The song " You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon came on, and I had a flashback!
When my boys were in high school, they both played in the marching band. During my youngest sons senior year I think, he had a tuba solo with the flute section. They were playing that song. As I was painting, I flashbacked to the high school bleachers, the band is on the field and they start playing "You Can Call Me Al". I felt the same feelings that I had when it was happening! Hoping that the special part of the song went well. When his part came up in the song. I could actually hear the tuba playing along with the flutes. When their part was over, I even saw the salute that he gave the crowd. I smiled and then noticed that I was also crying. Just like I did each time I saw the tuba/flute solo played, just like I am doing as I type this.
Having my boy are two of the best things I have ever done in my life.
I am so proud of them!
