Started the day at the vet.
Poor Kerm!
His hips are fine but his spine has a touch of arthritis. It is in the lower part (sacrum) between the leg joints. Doc said it didn't look that bad to be causing the total non-use of the one leg and asked if he could have had a muscle injury on top of the arthritis.
Think think think ... Then I occured to us it might have been last week when Rick took him over to his mom's 2 acres and Kerm tried to take on a Great Dane. Rick pulled them apart before the teeth sunk in to each other but not before Kerm raked his nails down the back of Rick's legs as he was straining to get that "Bad Boy". Think that might have done it? Doc nodded.
So Kerm is laying here higher than a kite from the good drugs he got at the vet to "calm him" while they took xrays. (He don't take kindly to strangers)
I asked the Doc if we could have some extras for the rest of the time (like the rest of his hyper life) but he just gave me a quirky smile. I don't think he got it.
So it is bed rest and anti-inflammatory meds for the next week to see if it gets better.
That means NO BALL!
This is going to be a very interesting week.
