We are Off!

We are out of here. Alll packed up and ready to go. See you in a few days.
Everyone stay safe and healthy. I love you all.

Travel the World

Okay not the WORLD but my little corner of it.

We decided to splurge and rent a motor home to travel the country side for the next week.

Have never done it before. May never do it again. But it will be like camping without sleeping on the ground in a tent that leaks. And if the bears decide to visit in the middle of the night, I can sit in my comfy traveling house and flip them the middle finger. Without having to worry about them biting it off.

Not sure where ALL we are going but do know that we will be in the Pinetop area on Sat and Sunday. We are going to help clean up the new cabin that Hubby's parents bought. Fixer-Upper ... you know the deal.

Don't know as there will be any phone lines there to do any blog entries but not planning on doing much of anything on the computer at all. Altho Hubby will undoubtably bring the laptop along for the ride.

Will be interesting to see how the dogs do on the trip. (yes we are taking them! the cat is staying with Son #2 and wife) Little OLD Black Crippled Blind Dog (aka Liko) should have the most fun. Since we like to hike when we are out in the woods, I am trying to come up with a way to pack him along. Do they may doggie back packs?

"Big Head with scabby lupus nose Dog" (aka Kermit) will have to wear sunscreen on his nose when we go out. He's going to look like the nerdy kid, that wears the glasses and the white sunscreen on his nose, that you always see on the beach.

Should be quite a trip!

Here's the scene...

Lunch time.

Hubby and I decided to go the local Souper Salad for lunch. We get in the car and drive the short 5 miles to restaurant. The parking lot is full but not as bad as it is usually. We find a parking place away from the building. We park the car. We joke about how the walk will do us good.

We eat healthy stuff. Salad and fruit with a little frozen yogurt for dessert. We are full.

We head to the parking lot. Walking straight to where we parked. The Bright Red Truck is no where to be seen. Granted there are quite a few "BRIGHT RED TRUCKS" in the parking lot but none of them are ours.
We walk to the next row. Nothing! We look to the left. Nothing! We look to the right. Nothing!

Panic is setting in. The truck is not here.

OUR TRUCK IS NOT HERE!

Honey?

Did you order a swimming pool?

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Some local homeowners are keeping a close eye on a sinkhole. The 45-foot wide, 25-foot deep hole is frighteningly close to a home. (02/02/04 WFTV photo)

Any you thought YOU were having a bad day!

The Results Are In!

Poor "Big Head Dog" has Discoid Lupus Erythematosus

His course of treatment is Tetracycline - 3 times a day, Niacinamide - 3 times a day, plus the Temeril P that he is already taking and the Dermcap pill for his skin. Damn! It's a good thing he is so good about having pills shoved down his throat. He sits there and takes it like a man..err dog!

My counter in the kitchen looks like a pharmacy. His basket of drugs is now bigger than my basket of vitamins.

If this doesn't help him, then we move on to bigger and better steroids. Wonder if I will have to have them smuggled in from Mexico.

Something to think about I guess.

But all in all, except for the gross looking nose, he is looking and feeling great. Things are all good.

Where do we go what do we do?

First I tell you the boring stuff:
Hubby changes work shifts the first full week in April. Right now he is working Sunday thur Wednesday and will change to Wednesday thur Saturday. From graveyard to swings. He will get off Weds morning this coming week and won't have to go back to work until the following Weds afternoon. SOOOO!

Now comes the good stuff:

What to do with a week vacation that isn't taking up any of his PTO days?

  1. We have thought of renting a motor home and cruising around the state for a week.
  2. If my in laws have closed on their new cabin, we might go help them get it cleaned up and ready to use
  3. We thought a short Mexican cruise but we have to deal with the dogs and the cat

Any ideas? You have to consider we have alittle less than a week and we have 2 dogs and a cat to deal with on short notice.
Submit ideas please!

Bastards

Don't you hate all the domain grabbing bastards out there?

The domain whatsupwiththat.com was due to expire March 17th. I have been watching it and since it is owned by the Chicago Tribune and is not being use for anything, I thought that I might have a chance.

The policy is to give the person a week OVER (sometimes more) the expiration date to reregister. The BASTARDS waited until the 19th to do that.

The only one that was open was www.whatsupwiththat.info.

NOT ANYMORE! That baby is now mine!

So everyone congratulate me. I am the proud owner of whatsupwiththat.info.

:)

Kermit Update!

Kerm is home from the vet.

He has two stitches in the nose and NOT enough "happy drugs" in him to mellow him out. Damn they wore off quick this time.

I asked the vet, "Could you give him another shot just to get him through til the morning."

He laughed.

I said, "No I'm serious!

He just kinda stammered....

"Dude, I am just kidding!", I laughed. Altho I really wasn't.The dog is hyper. I think he has doggie ADD! with extra hyperactivity mixed in.

But he is so loveable anyway.

So now he has "blue whiskers" coming out the end of his nose for the next 10 days. Pathology reports won't be back for about a week.

Think Happy Thoughts!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

irish.gif
May the luck of the dancing Irishman rub off on ye today!

Don't Drink (too much green beer) and Drive!

Yeck!

I ate two bran muffins today...

Now I have a belly ache.

But they were sooo good.

Give me a wake up call

Kermit the dog has to go into the vet tomorrow morning at 7:30 am. He is going to have a biopsy on his nose.

His poor nose looks like mine does after I have had a week-long cold with a runny nose. It started off as just a loss of pigment on the end of his nose between the nostrils. But now it has progressed to an ulcerated mess. The vet gave me some cortisone cream to put on it twice a day but it hasn't helped.

The vet now wants to take a biopsy to see exactly what it is. Seems he may have Discoid Lupus Erythematosus

The last time he was in and had X-rays, they gave him a "HAPPY" drug that soooo mellowed him out, he had a hard time holding his head up. I hope they can do it that way instead of having to give him anesthesia.

Kerm doesn't like the vet. Go figure.

Wallace and Ladmo

For those who are from the Valley of the Sun and are old enough to remember them, you have to check out this site. Wallace and Ladmo Link

It sure brought back memories for me.

Make sure you take the Wallace and Ladmo Quiz. I got 100%. I'm pretty damn proud of that!

For those of you that aren't from here. Wallace and Ladmo were a couple of guys who had a variety show during the mid 50's thru 1989. They put on skits and played cartoons to keep us entertained either before school or after school depending on what years you watched them.

There were all kinds of characters on the show. Gerald, the bratty private school kid who was always trying to get Ladmo in trouble. Aunt Maude, Marshall Good, Captain Super, Boffo the Clown (all played by Pat McMahon) to name a few.

Looking thru this Wallace and Ladmo website was a flash from the past. Brought back a whole lot of memories.

Damn. And then there was Legend City... But that is a whole other story. :)

Wintery Evening

It felt so much like a hot chocolate evening tonight. We had a great little thunderstorm roll in just after the sun went down.

There was just enough rain to give the air that Arizona rain scent. )Which for those of you who are not from AZ, it is quite abit like damp dirt) Had just enough lightning to get my 76 pound scarety dog into my lap.

After I peeled his upper legs from my neck and pulled his lower claws from my thigh I went and made hubby and I some of this . . .

Would you do something

useful PLEASE!

Since I got home from work I have been "dorking"with the little script to the left that puts up how I am feeling and moods and stuff. Damn. It really isn't that tough but do I have a mental block about scripting or what. I FINALLY got it to work and I find it quite amusing.

Notice: Not on all skins!

Tiny Bubbles and a cat!

My cat has discovered "BUBBLES"!

He loves them. Can't quite figure out where they go tho. The best part is about 5 mins after I stop blowing them, he is still doing the quick head jerks thing, sure that he is seeing them out of the corner of his eye.

There are a few more pics on the photoblog.

Where have all the flowers gone?

They are at my house.

The weather here has just turned warm (hot even at 87F) and things are starting to bloom.

Check out the my photoblog for the new spring blossoms.

I need to research how to password protect a blog. Anyone have any good sources for me to read up on it?

UPDATE:
Thanks anyway. I found it! :)

Workin in the Carwash Blues

It's a beautiful day in the Neighborhood! (R.I.P. Mr. Rogers)

I decided that since it is such a beautiful sunny day here today that I would take the "blue car" out and give it alittle TLC.

Seems somewhere out there, there was a "screw" waiting for a ride and it found it in my back passenger tire. (screw in the literal sense, not a "lets get laid! screw) This little bastard has been riding with me for about a week, as that is when I noticed that I had a sllooowww leak.

So this morning off I go to Discount Tire to have it fixed. I walked in. Told them my name. They said 45 mins. I went to Taco Bell for coffee. 30 mins later the car was ready. Not to bad!

Now it was off to the car wash to vacuum away the Kermit hair from the back seat. You see, my hubby won't let the dog in "HIS NEW TRUCK" but he says Kerm LOVES to ride in the car. So he uses "MY CAR" to run his errands when he wants to bring the dog. So that is the reason for the dog hair in MY CAR! Anyway, I digress!

So much for sleeping!

My hubby starts the graveyard shift tonight.

He moved to a brand new department in his company and is working with International Clients. Since our graveyard hours are International customers primetime hours, they needed someone with "experience" to work at that time. So his boss gave him the old ...

"We reallly need someone with your experience with the Company, working during this time. The others are too green and we can't let them work alone yet"

... speech.

So he gets screwed. And I don't!

I HATE TO SLEEP ALONE!

That is why I got married, right? So I wouldn't have too.

Kermit will be thrilled cause he will have half of the bed to himself now.

Survivor Pool!

Last week we started a Survivor Pool.

There were 13 contestants left at the time and we had 13 people who wanted to invest their hard earned money to have a chance at a million. (okay . . . the pot is only worth $26 but to a kid that is about a million)

Everyone anted up $2. (my nieces are involved, that is why the stakes are so high) Then the remaining Survivors were put into a hat (not the actual Survivor but their names) and each person drew out a name.

I drew Jenna. Not the person I would have chosen if I actually had a choice but better than some. Rick got "Drunk Tom". My mother-in-law got "Skanky Sue" so she is already crying in her beer.

Now Jenna has a shot at it this time around. She is keeping busy and not making to many enemies YET.

It's anyones game right now.

Another One Bites the Dust!

"Skanky Sue" has left the island!

Seems she was so tramatized by the "brush" with Richard that she couldn't go on with the game. I might be also if I had that obnoxious moron "brush" up against me.

I felt sorry for Jeff Probst. Sue is all screaming at him about how demoralized and humiliated she was. All he could do is stand there and take it. I actually felt alittle sorry for her.

But then I watched the "Early Show".

I was 10 ...

when the first episode of Star Trek was televised.

A friend emailed me this link and I found it quite entertaining and informative to say the least.

How old were you when these events occurred?

  • 9-11 attack on America?

  • first day of Y2K?

  • when O.J. Simpson was charged with murder?

  • the fall of the Berlin Wall?

  • the time the Iran hostage crisis began?

  • "I Shot the Sheriff" by Eric Clapton was released?

  • Elvis Presley died?

  • The first airing of "Saturday Night Live"?

  • When "Friends" first aired?

  • How about when "The Sound of Music" was released?

  • or "The Terminator"?

You can find this out and more by going to Age Gauge.

There is a TV gauge, a Movie gauge and a Top 40 gauge.

Enjoy!

Speaking of Movies ...

I was cleaning out one of my old file cabinets to make room for more of my "new Junk" when I decided to go thru all my old VHS tapes. There are about 60 tapes of various things. The object was to play them to make sure that what was written on the outside was actually what was recorded on them.

First I separated the ones that said they were family videos of vacations - band days - steel drum concerts - Christmas' etc. There were about twenty of those.

But when I started "viewing" the rest of the tapes on the VCR, it got so excited to be of use that it had a case of premature shutdown. TOTALLY! Will not work. So now I have about 40 tapes to figure out if they are keepers or ready for the recycle bin.

Damn I was so ready to get that chore taken care of. :(

And I really wanted to have a look at the "OLD" tapes. One of which is my wedding. Hubby and I thought it might be fun to sit down and watch it after the romantic weekend we had here with Josh and Niki's wedding.

Anyone have a VCR we can borrow?

Movie Buffs Unite!

I was checking out some fellow blogs and came across a really cool link at Just Like A Dream

I just know that my hubby and brother-in-law will love this one.

It is a list of letters from the alphabet that were taken from movie titles. You fill them in and when you get them correct it will display as correct.

Go figure that the only one I got in game 1 quickly was J.

Here's the link

Movie Alphabet Game 1

And for those who love torture here is a second game

Movie Alphabet Game 2

Brotherly Love!

Beeker (aka Fat Cat) on the left and Liko (aka Little Black Dog) were sharing a cat and dog nap on the big chair in the livingroom.
I covered it with a sheet after I spent the afternoon vacuuming the furniture for the wedding.

Don't you wish everyone could get along this good?

It was Beautiful

The day finally came and it has finally gone.

But after all was said and done, everything turned out absolutely wonderful.

Of course there were a few things that we forgotten and didn't get done but everyting was beautiful.

Here is the first picture of the Bride and Groom having their first dance.

couple.jpg

They are off to DisneyWorld for their honeymoon but I am sure when they get back there will be more pics and comments from the Bride and Groom on their blogs.

After almost 11 years together they finally did it and there was not a dry eyes in the house. (or backyard I should say)

I love them both.
