This is a Caramel Apple Cake from Costco. I had passed it by the last time I was in there but just couldn't resist it this time. It looked so yummy and the caramel made my mouth water.
I got it home without breaking in to it while I was driving (only cause I thought it would be REAL messy with the caramel and all). I got my big glass of milk. I cut myself a chunk and sat down to savor the wonderful caramel apple flavor.
The first bite goes in ...
Gack! YUCK! NOT GOOD!
I continued to eat it thinking that my tastebuds were being a bit picky but it NEVER got better.
Cut to scene two.
Hubby (of "give it to Mikey, Mikey will eat anything" fame) comes home and says "COOL yummy cake". He cuts himself a piece and munches down. I sit and watch him without saying a word. He eats the whole piece (and it was a BIG ONE) drinks his milk. Then calmly says, "That cake is pretty bad!"
He's going to take it to work with him today. They will eat it...they will eat anything.

Sounds like where I work...I always try it on the kids first. If they coughgagspit, I know it will be a BIG hit at work and will devour every last crumb. You are right though, it does LOOK good...
Thanks for the warning,
"Do not eat Rick Cake!"
I almost bought that cake! I'm glad I didn't. It DID look good. Maybe that was the same one from my store.
