JoJo's First Portrait

JoJo had her/his first portrait today. Who the hell is JoJo, did you ask?

Let me explain.

When E (my youngest son) and his girlfriend (now his wife) B were first dating they went to a fair and were wandering around the exhibit hall checking out all the cool thing. All the different booths with the handwriting analysis ... wonder blender/chopper that makes the great veggie juice ... and the awesome massage chairs that do everything except blow you. You know the place!

They came across a booth that said, "What will your children look like?" Being young and in love (or lust or whatever) they decided to find out. They each had their picture taken and then the two pictures were blended into one being. The result was, to say the least, interesting. She/he became known as JoJo the dog faced baby.

Now even tho she/he was not a very attractive little thing, she/he was to be MY GRANDBABY so JoJo became a name of endearment.

Well, now I have another picture of JoJo.

Calling all Yarnies!

Is that a word? If not here is my definition of it.

Yarnie:
1: person who uses yarn to make pretty things by either knitting or crocheting.
2: person who wants to help make a Blanket Statement.

Okay now that you have had your vocabulary lesson for the day. Check this out!

Planning a Trip

I just spent the day making arrangements for our trip in September to San Diego.

I love San Diego!

First made arrangements for the Animals. Sending them over to E's (youngest son)

Then made hotel reservations right along the beach at Pacific Beach.

Set up the rental car. Convertible for sure.

Things are all set.

But the problem happened when I went to make the airline reservations. I usually do it online with Southwest. Got it all set up with the days and times, put in my card info and click "Make Reservations". Clicked the printer friendly version and printed them out. After it was printed I went to highlight flight times and the reservation said:

San Diego to Phoenix instead of Phoenix to San Diego

PANIC!

What the FUCK did I do? Hubby thought I had just cut off my hand cause I let out a scream.

I immediately called Southwest directly and they took care of my blonde moment.

Thank you Southwest.

If You Don't Hear From Me

If you don't hear from me call 911.

It is 7:11am on this gloriously HOT Sunday morning and I HAVE to go do some yard work. Not want to or need to but HAVE too. I

It has been awful here and the poor dogs have no where left to poop. So off I go to clean up the yard before it gets too much hotter (currently at this writing at 7:14am it is 89°). I will wait to the respectable hour of 8am before I fire up the lawn mower, because that is the kind of neighbor I am.

Normally, I love to work in the yard but it is just to damn hot to do it right now. Besides, nothing grows here in the summer. At least not well.

Wish me luck.

UPDATE!
I am alive. Got myself a 40 min cardio workout in the process. Don't you love it!

Harry Was Awesome!

Quite the little JAZZ musician.

I just love Harry Connick's voice. And if there were anything BAD about the concert last night it would be that we didn't hear enough of it. The show was very Jazzy (type music) and featured the band ALOT. I am not complaining, mind you, but I paid for Harry to sing to me and not so much for the band. It is a good thing Hubby didn't go. He really doesn't like Jazz that much. Being a musician himself (plays guitar ... blues, rock, acoustical) he doesn't like what he calls the nonsensical rhythm of jazz.
Plus he hates it when I drool in public.

SPECIAL INFO!
We sat right behind Al McCoy and his wife.

There was also a birthday party going on for Don of Don and Charlies' Ribs, and I have never NEVER seen such RUDE people. There were about 60 in the group and they were Up and Down throughout the concert. This is NOT durring a break but while the show was going on. Don and Charlie's MUST have been buying the booze. Some guy even came back with a bucket of popcorn. DUDE you aren't at a movie here!

Busy day!

Why is it that I can sit around and do nothing for weeks on end and then one day have 20 things that need to be done RIGHT NOW! Could it be because I put everything off till the last minute. DUH!

Tonight, my mother-in-law and I are going to see Harry Connick Jr..

Since she works on my side of town and lives on the other side, she is going to spend the night here. That way she doesn't have to drive 40 miles to go home after the show tonight.

This means that I have to clean my "spare room" so my mother-in-law has someplace to sleep. Okay, to some of you that doesn't seem like much. But the "spare room" tends to be the "junk room". Everything that my Hubby doesn't know where it belongs, goes into the "spare room". And Hubby doesn't know where ANYTHING belongs. So I have a couple hours of work there.

Okay so that brings me to Harry! He could do me! But I think he would have to sing to me the whole time.

Which brings me to a question! Which famous person would you want to "take advantage" of YOU?

Dude! You're Good!

Those of you who have been reading for awhile, know that my Australian Shepard, Kermit, has discoid lupus.

This disease affects the nose in a dog. It causes ulcerations and cracking. Kind of like a very bad case of chapped lips only on the nose. Here is how his nose looked before he started taking the steroids.

He has been on the prednisone for almost a month now. Things have changed somewhat. Here is how his nose looks now.

Got a Foot Fetish?

If you like feet then you should definately take a click over to Alive and Bloggin's new site.

Foot Project

You can even send her a picture of your little tootsies. I, of course, wanted to participate, cause that is just how I am. But I have the grossest toes right now, in major need of a pedicure, so I sent in pictures of Hubby's and my two neices and nephew.

So go over and check out the feet.

This Doesn't Hamper Me

How the hell can two (2) people generate so much laundry?

I feel like I have been washing for a week straight. I try to do a load each morning, so the weekends aren't spent washing all day. But with the energy saver program we are on, I can only wash and dry clothes from 9 at night to 9 in the morning during the weekdays. That equals about a load a day, if I get up early enough to get one in before work.

Then comes the "FOLDING" the hanging up and the putting away. I don't buy ANYTHING that has to be ironed. Except the occasional dress shirt for Hubby.

This is how the folding is going!

I think I'm in Hell

It is 7 in the morning and I just got in from an hour of yardwork.

It's fu**in hot out there.

The temp right now at 7 am is 90°!!! with 30% humidity. Okay, I know those of you in other parts of the country or world for that matter are saying 30% BIG DEAL. But for us here in the desert where its usually a "Dry Heat" that is Fu**in high. And it is suppose to get up to 110° this afternoon.

Welcome to my summer. Where we stay inside with the air conditioning blasting out the cool air.

But now we have the threat of rolling blackouts. Or they may be calling them brown outs. Who cares? It may mean that at 3 o'clock some 110° afternoon my power could go out. I guess if that happens, I pack up the two dogs, the cat and the Hubby and go sit in my car with the air conditioning blasting.

I Did a Bad Thing!

I was out doing some errands for work tomorrow and along the way I have to pass by this Dairy Queen. I don't know what happened but my car did this sharp swerve to the right and ran right into the Dairy Queen drive thru. I found myself forced to order something, so I ordered a French Vanilla Moolatte.

Damn! I wish my tongue was longer so I could get all the way to the bottom of the glass. This was a very good thing.

Not Much To Say

Not a whole lot going on right now.

A girlfriend (I went to high school with) and I went to lunch yesterday to the "Cheescake Factory" Yum
I had a scumdillitious salad and of course we shared a piece of cheesecake. Coffee Heath Bar cheesecake to be exact. We also had the most delightful waiter who just left us alone to chat but was there everytime we looked like we needed something. Needless to say he got a very nice tip.

Today I have on my agenda: Clean this awful house. I hate that Hubby is still on swing shift cause I hate to clean when there is anyone home. Then by the time he leaves for work, I don't WANT to clean. So the poor house suffers. But today I am going to dig in. (I say that now)

Here's a question for you!

If you could have one or the other at no cost to you which would you want:

a full time housekeeper?

a full time cook?

Amazing Race 5

Ever want to travel around the world? Me too. But I am afraid this may be the closest I get to doing it. Watching Amazing Race.

I fell in love with this reality show during the first season and have watched it for the past 4 seasons. My brother-in-law and I even jokingly talked about sending in an audition tape. Hubby and I would probably kill each other before the trip was over, but B-I-L and I would probably get along well together. Only one drawback. He HATES (is scared to death) to fly. So no audition tape was ever made.

So instead we are having a Amazing Race Pool. Cost $2. (I know we are big time gamblers but the kiddies are involved too) The way it works is:
You must guess the order in which each team will finish. You will receive 1
point for each position you are off by. For example, if you pick a team to finish 7th and they finish in 3rd place, you get 4
points.............POINTS ARE BAD!!!!!!!!!

The person with the fewest points at the end of the race is the winner!!!

You could go to the website and check out the bios and make your decision from there.

Here are my choices.

It's Catching Up.

If you have a flag, please fly it proudly.

I received this in an email the other day and decided today would be a good day to share it with others.

Tribute to the Armed Forces

No matter how we feel about the war in Iraq, we must always remember that there are men and women in our armed forces that spend the holidays away from family and friends to keep us safe from harm and fight for our right to have an opinion. God Bless those who fight for our freedom.

My makeup is smeared and my eyes are swollen and I feel like I have just had a good cry. Oh yeah! I did.

We (a friend and I) just got back from seeing The Notebook! Wow! This movie is definately a two hankie movie. I haven't cried that hard at a movie since "Terms of Endearment". I know, that is an old movie but I don't remember crying that hard at anything recently. But maybe another movie will come to mind.

Anyway. I have always loved James Garner

I have to go back to work today.

It has been 10 days that I have been off for surgery. Actually, 7 but I with regular days off it was stretched to 10.

But today I go back. I feel like I have forgotten how to do it. But I guess after 24 years of doing the same thing, there is not much chance I have lost it all in 10 days.

So back I go.... no more cleaning house... no more wasting time on the computer... no more running errands on command...no more napping when ever I want.......WAIT! I guess I still get to do all that. But now I have to incorporate the job thing too.

Life is too exciting.

Here We Go Again!

Remember "The Crimson Room"?

Well, hold on to your britches cause we now have:

"The Viridian Room".

I found this one tougher than the Crimson Room, but once you know the "Secrets" it isn't so bad. Of course, that is always the case.

Let me know if you need any help.

Happy Solving!

Must...Go...To...Bed

Have a baby migraine starting. Must get my meds and get in bed. See you in a few hours. Damn I hate these things.

Josh has been wanting to lose weight. We all know how that is. We know we are too heavy! We know it is not good for our health! We know we would feel better physically and mentally!

But NO MOTIVATION!

Well, being the good mom I am I offered THIS as motivation.
