Again, I slack.

Monday Aug 30th
Has to be jumping on the scale this morning and finding that I was down 3 lbs. OH YEAH!

Tuesday Aug 31st
Hands down it has to be having dinner at Tagliani's with Hubby's family. Brother, sis-in-law, 2 neices (8 and 5), nephew (10 months) and Mom-in-law. I love to get together with family. Always makes me smile. This is the same group we are going to join up with in San Diego. I can't wait. 18 days! WOOHOO

Happiest Moment Catch Up

Let's see... I haven't posted a Happy Moment for the 27th, 28th and 29th. So I will try to remember what they were now.

Friday Aug. 27th:
Baby shopping with my daughter-in-law, B and my (still growing inside) grandbaby, JoJo. B is getting this cute little baby belly. :)

Saturday Aug 28th:
Finally having something go right on the new blog design I am making for when we are in San Diego. We always take the laptop so I will be blogging from there and uploading the awesome pictures I will be taking.

Sunday Aug 29th:
It had to be having breakfast with my mom and Hubby. Just the everyday chit chat but it was nice. Okay, it also might have been the look on my Mom's face when I got the innerds of her toilet replaced. (Hubby was cleaning up her computer) The simple things in life!

UMM! Excuse Me But You Just Hit That Car!

My client's car was run into in the parking lot at work this morning. I just happened to be sitting chatting with another customer and looking out the front window when this lady pulled into the parking lot. As she was pulling into the parking space she clipped the back bumper of my customers car, I'll call her C. My customer NOT her car. silly

I informed C that her car had been hit and we went out to look. The other lady (also a salon customer but not mine) was just getting out of her car. She came around to look too, saying, "Did I do that?". Well YEAH!

Well, I had my trusty camera and I took some pictures and they exchanged information. But since I am the only one who saw it happen, I guess I am going to be called by the insurance companies. Fun time.
I love being a witness to a crime. Okay, so it's not a REAL crime, but I am still "the only witness". The power!

If you want to see the damage look further.

Making up!

Take That! Spammers!

No, I don't want to spend my hard earned money online gambling.

No, I don't need viagra! Hubby doesn't either, believe me!

No, even if I had a penis I wouldn't want to enlarge it.

So I just installed MT-Blacklist to my blog.

Hopefully, it will do for blogdom what the National DO NOT CALL list did for the dinner hour.

I was amazed how easy it was. Just 1..2..3!

Bye Bye Spammers!

Warms the Cockles of My Heart

I saw a cute story over at St. Family. I commented that "It warmed the cockles of my heart". Then I started wondering... What the hell is a cockle?

A quick trip to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary gave me this.

Amazing Race was quite exciting tonight. One of the contestants was almost thrown in jail. Bet you can't guess who!

Happiest Moment for . . .

the past few days.

I have been a bad girl and have not added my happiest moments for the past few days. So, now I have to rack my wee little brain to think "What the Hell did I do the past few days that made me happy" But I am going to give it a try. So where did I leave off? Oh yeah...

August 21
Might have been the MooLatte I had from Dairy Queen but it was two days ago so can't quite be sure. :)

August 22
Sleeping til 9am. 9AM I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at the clock. I am usually up before 6am whether I need to be or not. Neither Hubby or Kermit the dog, woke me up. Wonderful, since I haven't been sleeping too well for the past few days.

August 23
Today, the happiest moment was finding out that I didn't have any appointments til late this afternoon, so I played hooky from work. :) Then Hubby and I went out to dinner with my 2 nieces, nephew, brother-in-law and sister-in-law. That always makes me happy.

Okay I am all caught up!

And It Begins

Last month, I joined Curves.

I decided that I was going to concentrate on doing the exercise for the first month instead of working on the diet part. Usually I say I'll diet for a month and then exercise. I decided to mix it up. Plus, I wanted to see if this program would work WITHOUT the diet part.

Well it did.

Photo Friday: Tranquility

pf.gif

I entered my pretty cloud picture in the Photo Friday:Tranquility challenge. If you are so inclined go on over and check out the pictures. There are quite a few really good one. Vote for the ones you think most represent "Tranquility". My picture is #348. You could vote for me too. If you think it is worthy.

:)

Voting continues til Sunday at midnight.

Damn, I am SLEEPY.
You ever have one of those nights where you just CAN'T get to sleep?

That was last night. I was really tired and headed to bed about 10, thinking that I would be asleep before the old head hit the pillow. But NOOOO!

I tossed and turned for about an hour. Thinking about vacation, thinking about work, thinking about world peace. Honestly, I was!

I finally got up about 11, debating whether to wait for Hubby to get home in the next 40 mins or see what was in the medicine cabinet. I chose the cabinet.

Happiest Moment Aug 20

When I looked over at the counter on the sidebar and realized it is less than a month to vacation and the beach. WOO HOO!

Happiest Moment Aug 19

I was surfing the web looking for things to do when we are in San Diego (look at the countdown on the sidebar). I came across this.

I do believe in ghost. I do believe in ghost. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do believe in ghost. *said in my best cowardly lion voice*

After spending way to many hours reading about the ghost and looking at the pictures of the "Haunted Places", I found "Ghost and Gravestones Tour".

Now Hubby was just THRILLED *said sarcastically* about the idea but my mother-in-law loves this stuff too. So, we are going to tear her away from the brother-in-law and family one night and head out to do some "Ghost Hunting"

I love great finds on that there internet.

:)
ps I actually have pictures from "The Winchester House" in San Jose and Alcatraz that have the "orb" things in them. I never knew that they were suppose to be "spirits". I will look them up and post some later. BOO!

This afternoon I was sitting at my computer and I hear this tick - tick - tick - tick, like pebbles being thrown at a window.

Well, I went to investigate where this noise was coming from and this is what I found.

Turning my kids on to The Amazing Race.

Josh and Niki came over and watched "The Amazing Race" with us. I think it was the first time they had ever watched it. I think they are hooked.

They aslo went and got everyone a Blizzard from DQ

to enjoy during the show. I think they lasted to the first commercial. :)

New Terrorists Group

At Phoenix Sky Harbor airport today, an individual later discovered to be a public school teacher was arrested trying to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a setsquare, a slide rule, and a calculator.
At a morning press conference, Attorney General John Ashcroft said he believes the man is a member of the notorious al-gebra movement. He is being charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction.

Al-gebra is a fearsome cult," Ashcroft said. "They desire average solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in a search of absolute value. They use secret code names like 'x' and 'y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have determined they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country. As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, 'there are 3 sides to every triangle'."

When asked to comment on the arrest, President Bush said,
"If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, he would have given us more fingers and toes."

This group was around when I was in high school. They tried to recruit me too, but I fought them off. Not giving in to their brainwashing. :)

Too funny!

If You Could Go Anywhere...

in the World, where would you go?

The coumpany that Hubby works for give him 5 weeks vacation after 5 years. So that means starting Jan 2005, we have 5 weeks to blow. FIVE WEEKS! Damn that is alot of vacation. Especially when most of our vacations last a long weekend. Trips to the cabin. Short jaunts to places close by. The furthest and longest vacation we have taken was our honeymoon to Hawaii and that was 10 days.

So much time and SOOOO many places to choose from.

So here is my question to you.

What is it like where you are? Should I come to your town or country? We are open to all kinds of adventures and would like to have some ideas. What is there to do in your neck of the woods?

Happiest Moment Aug 16

getting my checkbook balanced.

I am one of those people (quite anal) who has to have their checkbook balanced to the PENNY! Well something was horrible awry. I was off by a whole $.09. OH MY GOD! (enter drama queen)

Thank goodness, it only took me 15 mins to figure it out. (miss typed entry into Quicken)

So Happy again.

UPDATE! I had this as a draft and forgot to publish it. I was hoping for a better Moment, but alas, none came.

"The Kids" stopped by after they had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

They were nice enought to bring dessert. A piece of the "New" 6 Carb Original Cheesecake" with yummy strawberries and whip cream.

Can you say "Y-U-M-M-Y"! and it is ALWAYS good to have "The Kids" around.

Happiest Moment Aug 13

My happiest moment for Friday the 13 had to be:

not getting trampled by a herd of angry black cats,
not walking under a ladder,
finally finding my lucky rabbit's foot,
not getting knocked out when my lucky horseshoe fell off the door frame and hit me in the head,

but the happiest was getting the much needed rain this evening. Bring it on.

Friday the 13th

I'm not really superstitious. Well maybe just a little bit but it doesn't rule my life.

So pull out your rabbit's foot, your four-leaf clover and stay away from those black cats. (Sorry Fox and Hobbs)

Happy Friday the 13th.

My Hubby thinks I am crazy but my being crazy just saved us $100 on the car rental for our vacation to San Diego.

All I can say is, even if you have a reservation for a rental car, keep checking back every few days. The prices change more often then you change your underwear. I went from $320 to $220. I don't think I can do much better than that but you can guarantee that I will be checking again.

Call me crazy! But that is $100 I can spend on "stuff" while we are gone.

Hands down it had to be playing Marco Polo in the pool with my kids. Lots of laughs and cooling off in the summer heat.

Same game we use to play when the "boys" were younger, just bigger bodies.

I love getting together with my boys and their wives. They are my life and my loves.

Since my whole day was full of happy moments and the last post was chockful of those moments, I have decided to pick a happy moment OTHER than what was previously mentioned.

So here goes...

The one happy moment that I forgot to mention was this one.

Day Trippin ... Yeah!

You got to love those short day trips. They make you feel so refreshed and ready for a nap.

We took off early this morning, heading for what I thought would be a nice breakfast up in Prescott. Prescott is a really nice little town about an hour north of Phoenix. The temperatures are a bit cooler than town so we thought we would take a drive and get out of the heat. Our destination was Bucky's Casino. They have to have food there, right!

We got to Bucky's and headed for the restaurant. They were having a brunch buffet. Sounded good. Something made me ask what the cost was. $20.95! and that was for only one of us ... WHAT! I only budgeted $30 for breakfast and I'll be damned if I was gonna dip into my gambling money to feed our faces. So the "guy" (can't spell matre de, told you) told us there was a coffee shop upstairs above the casino. So off we went to eat breakfast burritos and coffee. (total bill including tip was $21) Chaa Ching! more gambling money.

After breakfast it was time to hit the casino. I headed to a quarter slot and Hubby was off wandering someplace spending his money. I didn't do too bad. I hit a couple $30 pots and was able to play with their money most of the time. I was pretty excited cause I had a small bucket of quarters that I was clinging to all proud and shit.

Then Hubby comes over and asks me if I could hold this for him. THIS was a rack of silver dollars! A hundred bucks worth! So much for my bucket of quarters. He headed for the cashier.

I lost my quarters and I headed over to the $1 machine and that is where my luck ran out. It didn't take to long and I was out of money. Hubby was ready to leave.

We get into the truck and he hands me the $100 bill that he cashed in and said, "Here you can have this!" I am thinking, "what a nice guy". Then he says, "I'll keep these" and he shows me TWO more crisp $100 bills. The bastard had won $300 and didn't even let me enjoy the moment in the casino. I could have done the *happy dance* but he wanted to surprise me. But I wanted to do the *happy dance* inside. *pout* I made him feel all bad and shit. But I still got to keep the $100.

We were driving out of Prescott and decided to take a trip to Jerome. Jerome is a cool mining town (now considered a ghost town) on the side of Mingus Mountain about another hour north of Prescott. We wandered the town for about an hour (it was hot) and decided to call it a day.

I did get a couple of really cool shots of the pretty clouds

and the view from Jerome looking over Verde Valley.

Today's happiest moment would have to be chit chatting with a friend I have known since I was a freshman in high school. Deb and I live about 5 miles from each other but just don't manage to get together very often.

It's sad how sometimes you let friendship lapse. We get so involved in our everyday lives that we just don't make time for the "old days"

People... Keep in touch with your past. Today, pick up the phone or type out an email and let someone from your past know that you are thinking of them. I bet you will be surprised at how happy they are to hear from you.

Do It Now! You won't be sorry.

Happy Birthday dear Joshua,
Happy Birthday to you.

I suffered for hours to give birth to this 9lb 5oz. bouncing baby boy. The least you can do is go over and tell him how much I suffered to bring him into this world. It was 30 years ago (not possible) today and I still remember the whole 4 hours worth of labor. Oh Shut up it was a long 4 hours.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSHUA! Mommy loves you!

Work was alittle slow today.

Somehow, we got on the subject of genetics. How some people have the genetic makeup to be able to roll their tongue. Come on, you know what I mean. To curl it up like this...

tonguecurl.jpg

Some of us could do it ... some of us couldn't. But we spent 15 mins. laughing our asses off trying. So that is my Happiest Moment of the day.

But it went further. They called me a freak. Because I can do this!

I guess that means I have to make more happy.

School starts here next week. My mother-in-law works for the high school just down the street from me but she lives across town (about 35 miles away) Well in her words, "The little bastards had registration today" So on the days that she has to stay late at the school she comes here to crash instead of driving home the 35 miles.

My happiest moment today was when she came here after work and brought along with her a small Blizzard from DQ. Quite unexpected but definately the happy moment today.

You Did That Because ... ?

Happiest Moment Aug 2

Last night I just couldn't get to sleep. I tossed and turned til about 3:30am and finally dragged my sorry ass out to the couch. I laid there for another hour or so watching the red numbers changing on the ceiling. (We have a projection clock in the livingroom that projects the time anywhere you want. We have it set to project on the ceiling. ) Last time I remember seeing a time it was 4:30am. I had to get up by 7am.

So, today the happiest moment was managing to squeak in a half hour "nap" between going to the doctor with Hubby and having to go back to work.

UPDATE! And going to bed at 8:30 and sleeping til 5:30 the next morning. :)

Don't Worry Be Happy

I was skimming thru my blog list today, catching up on my reading, when I came across "The Challenge" at Pretty Purple Princess. For those who are to lazy to click the link, The Challenge is to write down your happiest moment of the day, each day for the month of August.

I totally believe in the power of positive thinking and I thought this was a great idea. I challenge everyone of you who read my blog to participate. You don't have to have a blog to do it. You can write your moment down on a piece of paper anywhere. So come on...write it down and we can compare how we feel at the end of the month.

Happiest Moment Aug 1

We went to my niece's 8th birthday party at the local swimming pool. When we arrived there were already 10 or so kids and their parents there. But both of my nieces ran over to me to give me a hello hug. I love hugs. How many hugs did I get today. Let me count them. One ... two ... three . . . . . Eleven! Eleven different people gave and recieved a hug from me today.

I love hugs!

Of course, there were hello hugs and goodbye hugs and the many hugs I get from Hubby in the course of a normal day. So I have to say it was a GREAT HUGGING Day.

So my happiest moment today was Hugging.
