in the World, where would you go?
The coumpany that Hubby works for give him 5 weeks vacation after 5 years. So that means starting Jan 2005, we have 5 weeks to blow. FIVE WEEKS! Damn that is alot of vacation. Especially when most of our vacations last a long weekend. Trips to the cabin. Short jaunts to places close by. The furthest and longest vacation we have taken was our honeymoon to Hawaii and that was 10 days.
So much time and SOOOO many places to choose from.
So here is my question to you.
What is it like where you are? Should I come to your town or country? We are open to all kinds of adventures and would like to have some ideas. What is there to do in your neck of the woods?

Five weeks! FULL of envy here. We are about 1/2 hour outside of NY City. Lots to do there, but the Republican Convention is hitting town soon and it will be insane with people and security. Damn, I love vacation!
I have to admit that I sometimes find it very strange to LIVE in a place that so many others come to visit. I think that all of northern california is a treasure trove waiting to be discovered but I'm especially proud of our "Wine country". Just a reminder that if you plan a trip here, you will most likely be directed to the Napa Valley, and yes that's a beautful area. But don't fail to also explore OUR lovely Sonoma valley as well. As it says on my very favorite T-shirt ever... "Napa is for autoparts, Sonoma is for wine"
Of course is wine is SO not your thing, there are spas, and hiking, and bike riding, and while you may not like drinking wine, driving or biking pasts rows of grape vines is an amazingly beatiful expericance.
Then there is the fact that we're only 50 miles from San Francisco, my favorite city in the WORLD. (Ok - so my experiance is limited... sue me!)
If you do deside to visit here, let me know, I can offer some suggestions that I'm confident will knock your socks off... just let me know your interests and I'll bet we can fullfill it.
Uh, can you tell I'm passionate about the area I live in? And that I'm seriously consitering opening a buisiness that deals in travel? Heh.
