Damn, I am SLEEPY.
You ever have one of those nights where you just CAN'T get to sleep?

That was last night. I was really tired and headed to bed about 10, thinking that I would be asleep before the old head hit the pillow. But NOOOO!

I tossed and turned for about an hour. Thinking about vacation, thinking about work, thinking about world peace. Honestly, I was!

I finally got up about 11, debating whether to wait for Hubby to get home in the next 40 mins or see what was in the medicine cabinet. I chose the cabinet.

I took a hit of this

Course, I didn't have the sniffles, or the sneezes and I wasn't achy or stuffy and I don't think I had a fever. But it was NIGHTTIME and I wanted to sleep. There is nothing that puts me to sleep faster than NyQuil. And believe it or not I actually like the taste. No Really!

I was asleep before Hubby got home and don't even remember his "I am home" kiss.

THAT SHIT WORKS!

But this morning I am still groggy. It took 2 snoozes on the alarm before I got out of bed, and a couple of cups of REAL coffee to get me moving.

So what is your magic cure for sleepless nights?

You honestly like the taste of Nyquil? I'm at a loss for words. Really.
EW!

I hate the taste, but love how it works. Does that make sense?

I'm a certified insomniac. As a matter of fact I actually have a sleep disorder. I've tried a LOT of things to try to fall asleep and the thing that helps me the most is Praying... For some reason no matter how much trouble I'm having falling asleep as soon as I start talking to the 'big guy' I start to drows and soon after I'm in the zone. Of course that doesn't mean I'll STAY asleep, but it's a start.

Even if you're not a particularly 'religous' person I think this could be helpful for folks.

1st step - acknowledge that the world is a bigger place then your little corner. The sun comes up, flowers bloom, fish swim, all with no help from little ol' you. (Adulation)

2nd step - acknowledge the stuff you've screwed up - bad things you've said and make peace with that (Confession)

3rd step - Acknowledge the good things in your life. That awsome man that sleeps next to you. The amazing kids you have, or heck the ability to get out of bed in the morning (Thanksgiving)

Lastly - Ask the big guy (or the cosmos or whatever) for help with the stuff you can't handle on your own. If you don't believe in a 'higher power' acknowledge that what will happen will happen and you arn't going to change it by worrying about it. (Supplication)

I tell you, this works almost EVERY time.
