Pictures Anyone?

While catching up on my blog reading I found this at Alive and Bloggin

Think of 3 pictures you'd like to see.
Leave whatever you'd like to see in the comments.
Things around my house, or whatever... something I can take a picture of easily.
Once I have enough request, I'll start posting them. If I can't, or won't take a picture of something you've requested, I'll let you know.

I will even drive around the city to take pictures if you want. Want to see something of Phoenix? Let me know.

Have fun and be creative in your requests.

How Long?

How long does it take to get out of vacation mode? Well obviously more than three days.

I haven't got SHIT done since we got home. Granted I spend Mon and Tues looking for the cat. But come on....

The laundry is still piled in the laundry room, the kitchen is stacking up with dishes and the kitchen table still has the "stuff" that has to be put away from vacation.

And I DON'T CARE!

I did reformat my computer today so it is a brand spanking new setup. But my desk is a disaster.

Oh well there is always tomorrow.

CAT UPDATE: Cat is doing fine. Sleeping most of the day and walking very gingerly on his feet but they are healing very well.

How Many Lives Do You Have Left?

We have found the CAT!

After driving around the neighborhood and not finding him, we decided to try walking the neighborhood. Hubby spotted his eyes peering out from under a lawn decoration three doors down from my sons. We called him but he was too scared to come out so we had to lift up the cover and snag him.

We are happy to say that Beeker is back at home. A little worse for wear but home. He just got out of the shower (that was fun) and he is busy licking himself dry. He was extremely dirty and his feet are all torn up but he is alive and I think happy to be home.

Depending on how he does tonight and how the pads of his feet look tomorrow he may or may not get a visit to the vet. The pads of his feet are all scratched up and his back claws (he doesn't have claws on the front) are all shredded. They may have to be professionally cleaned up. We will see.

Thanks for all of those who sent out a kitty prayer for ole Beek. I would bet he is down to about 5 lives now.

Beeker Sighting

I just got a call from a neighbor of E's. Seems Beeker has been hiding out in his attic for the past couple of days. He keeps his trap door open for circulation and Beeker LOVES high places. He saw the flyers we taped everywhere and called the number.

But unfortunately he managed to get Beeker out of the attic and Beeker ran across the street and he hasn't seen him since last evening.

At least we know as of last night he had not become coyote food and was still in the area. E is going to have the guy who spotted him put out some of Beekers cat food to see if he can lure him back. E is also putting out food.

So maybe with all the flyers we may actually see Beeker again.

Keep your fingers crossed.

I Got Your Stinkin' Flyers

We spent the morning over in Mesa taping "Lost Cat" flyers to every pole and community mailbox within 5 blocks of my sons house. If someone in the neighbor hood has that "damn cat" they can't miss them. Now whether they want to give him back, now that is a different story. Also put a "LOST CAT" ad in the East Valley Tribune and listed him at the Pets911.com

He is actually just a big ball of zunt. Doesn't do a whole hell of a lot except eat, sleep and shit. But he is MY BALL OF ZUNT and I want him back. So if you live in Mesa and have seen a Big Ball of Zunt that answers to the name of "BEEKER" . . . drop me a line.

200 Things to Do

I found this a couple different places and decided I had done quite a few. Check it out if you are interested. Bold are the ones that I have done.

Packing Up and Heading Home

I hate this part of the trip. Packing and saying goodbye to the ocean, beach and the cool temperatures.

It is always nice to be away but nice to get home too.

Here's hoping that Beeker the cat miraculously turns up before we get home. He has now been gone 48 hours and no sign of him. That does not sound good. I have made a lost report at the local "Pet Lost and Found" but no hits yet.

Where oh where can my big fat cat have gone?

This will be the last entry from beautiful San Diego.

Adieu!

And the Answer Is ...

Today is my youngest son, E's birthday.

His wife had an ultrasound this afternoon to find out what their baby is going to be.

And the results are . . .

Jonesing for the Beach

Hubby and I were sitting at dinner at Tony Romas (yes we are still on vacation) when my cell phone rang.

Me: "Hello?"

Bro-in-law: "It's me."

Me: "Hey, whats up?" Being a little concerned, since we were just with them yesterday at breakfast. We knew that they had arrived home safe and sound. Was something wrong with the kids, his wife, MIL?

Bro-in-law: " I am jonesing for the beach. Just called to see what you are doing right now!"

Me: laughing "Right now we are sitting eating ribs at Tony Romas about 100 feet from the beach. After we finish here we are going back to the room to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset while we listen to the waves roll in."

Bro-in-law: sighing, "Okay, I feel better. Have fun."

Me: " We will, thanks!"

Bro-in-law: "Bye!"

Me: "Bye bye"

Glad I could be of help.

Lost Cat!

Seems we have a lost cat.

My youngest son, E and his wife are watching our dog, Kermit and our cat, Beeker while we are in San Diego.

I get a call on my cell phone this morning . . .
"We can't find the cat!"

Me: "What do you mean you can't find the cat?"

E: "I went to work this morning and B was sleeping and now we can't find the cat"

Me: " Could he have gotten out of the house?"

E: "I don't think so. I let the dogs out this morning but I don't think Beeker got out"

Me: "Have you checked every nook and cranny in the house? He likes to hide in quiet, covered spots to get away from the dogs. Have you checked everywhere?"

E: " I thought so"

Well, that was late morning and as of 6 pm ... still no cat. They have looked and called and checked the neighborhood and NO BEEKER!

If he got out, he does have a collar on with our phone number. We have checked the answering machine but no calls.

Chances are he has found himself a secret hiding place that they don't even know that they have. He is probably sitting there watching them look for him and he will come out when he gets hungry or has to go.

But if anyone has seen a fat gray tabby cat with a shorter than usual tail, call me.

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My

We are heading to the Wild Animal Park today. Just waiting for the other half of the party to call. They will be taking MIL to them so they can head over to Legoland while we go to the Park.

I have alot of pictures from the beach to upload but just haven't had the time. Go figure...I am on vacation. Plus this laptop is a dog. :) Slow as pond water.

Okay we are off. More later.

Wish You Were Here

Had a few minutes this morning to add some pictures to the San Diego 2004 Trip photoblog.

We had an awesome time at Sea World, yesterday.

I want to thank those of you who took the time to wish me Happy Birthday. It is always nice to know that people care and it makes a person feel loved to be remembered. Thanks again.

We Have Arrived

We are here. Here being San Diego. We have already eatten at our favorite place, The Green Flash. We are now back in the room and about to take a nap. We have been standing in lines all day and that can be quite exhausting.

The sun is going down and the breeze is ruffling the curtains off the balcony. We can hear the ocean waves breaking on the shore right outside our room.

I have a photoblog set up for those of you who want to watch the vacation unfold. I hope to get a few shots of the sunset in a few mins. Have a look over at San Diego 2004

I also added a link on the side bar just above the "Guestmap" button.

Off to take some sunset pictures. Adios for now.

p.s. for the full beach effect . . . you might want to reset the skin to default if you are not already on the beach skin. :)

Don't Mess With My Station!

I am a hairstylist! I have my station and my stuff set up the way I want. I leave my station clean and tidy when I leave at the end of the day. This way I don't have to get there early to get things ready. It is already done.

So I really hate it when someone uses my station while I am gone. Actually, I don't hate for them to use my station...just don't leave it looking like you used it. Clean it up and leave it the way you found it.

Okay you get the picture! Well imagine my surprise when I got to work this morning and found THIS!!!

Anyone?

Anyone else having problems with Blogrolling? It is not showing my blog list as being updated . . . It is not adding blogs that I have linked to . . . it is not changing my preferences like I want . . . WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

Am I the only dork they are picking on?

I hate when shit breaks.

Timing is Everything

Why is it that you are getting ready to go out of town and everything starts falling apart.

I went to watch a taped (Replay TV, like TiVo) show and got an error that it didn't tape. Check your equipment. FINE! I checked the unit and rebooted it and I couldn't get anything. When the TV and Replay were both on, the TV was black. I think it is taking a dump.

NOOOOO!

Doesn't it know that this is the worst time to be breaking down. New Fall Season starts next week while we are on vacation. The season finale of Big Brother AND Amazing Race are next week. Couldn't it wait for one more week. One more week I would be home and have nothing to do but wath TV. But no it has to take a shit TONIGHT! So Hubby is going to look at it after work and check it out to see if it is repairable.

If it isn't fixable, Niki and Josh have an extra Replay TV unit that they are trying to sell. So we may have to go that route. Time will tell.

Time is running out! Not enough time to get all the things done that I want to before we leave. I guess if it doesn't get done it will always be here when we get home.

235

Since the first of Sept. I have had 235 spam comments. Actually, I should say that I have had 4 spam comments, but MTBlacklist has caught 231. So I didn't have to do anything with those 231.

Why do these "PEOPLE" and I use the term loosely, think that I am interested in enlarging my penis, buying a pill to keep Hubby's penis erect for hours, playing texas holdum, viewing "Lolita" at her online porn site, getting a free credit report, or playing at an online casino?

Could this possibly be profittable for them? Are there really people that say, "Hell yes, send me some of them penis pills over that there internet." or "You betcha I want one of those vacuum things to suck my dick to a new "ENLARGED" size. WHAT"S UP WITH THAT?

Maybe sometime in the future we will have a "National Do Not Spam" registry like the "National Do Not Call". Seriously, if you haven't signed up for the Do Not Call list, and are hammered by telemarketers at dinnertime, sign up now. It's awesome! And it really works. I never get phone calls. From ANYONE. EVER! My phone never rings. EVER!

I feel so alone. I wonder if I can take my number off the list.

Damn Non-Elimination!

I guess you can tell I was able to watch TV last night. Wouldn't miss Tuesday nights for anything.

Colin and Christie, heeheehee.

Amazing Race Spoiler to follow in case you have the show taped for future viewing.

Bye Bye Nicodemus

Big Brother going to be pretty boring this week on the live feeds.

Cowboy voted off Nakomis. (Marvin use to call her Nicodemus, that is why the title) Then .....

Live feed info to follow. If you don't want to know who won the first part of the final HOH then don't read any further.

What Did I Find?

While cleaning out the shed, I came across the crib that my children slept in when they were babies. Kind of battered and worn but I think refinishable. So I have a project to work on now. I will redo the boys crib and set it up in my extra room for when the "grandbaby" comes to visit. I am assuming that I can get it done before February when "JoJo" is due.

Let the sanding and scrubbing begin!

Mission Accomplished

You know how your best laid plans don't always work out QUITE the way you thought they would. Well that was the "Shed Flooring Project"

We emptied the shed and removed the floor and set out the "plan" for the brick pavers. The only problem . . . spacing. Fourteen inch bricks all the way across would leave us either short or way over. So we improvised and added a cute little design with 8x4 bricks. Anyway, instead of taking two days, it took 3, and "MAN AM I SORE"! Those "little 14 inch bricks" are heavy and I have the bruises to prove it.

But the results were MORE than satifactory. Take a look!

Damn! It is hot outside! Especially when you are working in a hot metal shed. We got out there bright and early (about 6:30am) and this is what we had to deal with.

Dot Com

When I started blogging and decided on a "Name" I was unpleasantly surprised to find that whatsupwiththat.COM and whatsupwiththat.NET were both taken. So I settled for whatsupwiththat.INFO.

Back in January, I checked godaddy.com to find out who owed .com and .net because neither were being used for anything. I found that .NET was coming up for renewal in July. I decided to do a backorder thru godaddy.com and have them keep tabs to see if it was renewed. They have been sending me emails each week with updates on what was happening. First I got an email notice saying that the renewal date had changed to 2005. DAMN! those losers, renewed!

Well, I never changed my backorder so I have continued to get a weekly email telling me there was no change. Then last week I get my weekly email and it says "Domain status has changed. Pending delete" What the hell does that mean? So I ignored it. Next weekely email says, "We will be attempting to secure whatsupwiththat.net for you" (that is part of the backorder service) What?! Maybe they decided not to renew.

Beach Blanket Bingo!

Okay, so there is no blanket and no B-I-N-G-O, but there is definately a beach.

In honor of the San Diego trip I created a "Beach" skin. If you aren't seeing a beach with shells, click and change the skin to "Beach".

There ya go!

Vacation Days are Wonderful!

Hubby had to burn some vacation days before the end of the year, so he took Weds. and Thurs. off. Since we are going to San Diego in 11 days, 8 hours, 3 mins (and counting), we decided NOT to go to the cabin up in the tall, cool pines. Instead, we are cleaning out the shed. Perfect swap don't you think.

Tomorrow, bright and early, we are going out into the 100°+ heat to clear out our saved "JUNK" and put a new floor in the "HOT" metal shed. The old wood floor is rotting away and turning into sawdust. Granted, it really needs to be done, but I thought it could wait till the weather was abit cooler. . . . like maybe 90°. But I have to strike while the pan it hot. (Hubby being the pan... not the temperature)

I told him I would help with the shed if after it got "too hot" to work outside, we both came in and clean the house. Now THAT is a trade off.

Want to Share?

Anyone out there running MT that wants to share the code for the drop down archive list? I have been dorking with it all morning and can't seem to get it to work, right.

I can get it to list the archive months but then they are not linked to anything. I want to use the "MTTags" of course so I don't have to update the info each month. I hope once I have the CORRECT code I can figure it out for my category archives too.

ANYONE?

UPDATE! Thanks anyway. I figured out my mistake. I had two codes named the same. DOH! I forgot that since I had the "Change the Skin" drop down that I had to change the name of the "Archive" drop down. That's what you get for trying to "get it done in a hurry" before you head to work. :)

Happy Blogging Anniversary

It was one year ago today that I started Blogging.

Maybe I Was Wrong!

Maybe I am Martha Stewart.

As posted below, I went over to Mom's to help with some handyperson work this morning.

My project was to prime, paint and tile the top of this old end table. To make it look wonderful. Well here is what I had to work with.
(Click to get the big picture, for the whole effect)

Old Table

Nice sturdy, solid piece of wood. But a mess, right?

Well, after priming it, painting it and gluing on the tile, this is what was left......

Martha Stewart I Am Not

I am off to Mom's today. We are going to do some "decorating" things. She bought new furniture for her familyroom and she wants to use the old end tables, so we are going to give them a new look. We will be painting them a lighter brown and and then we will put ceramic tile on the top. (with grout and the whole deal) Mom came up with this idea and I really like it, so I hope that it works as planned.

Then there is the other toilet fixings that we will replace.

So off I go to be Homer Handyman. Ta Taa!
