Birthday Parties and BBQ's

You've heard the song Manic Monday by the Bengals. Oh come on sure you have. (if I had it in "MY LIST" I would make a link for download but it seems I don't have it)

Anyway, I digress.

This should be called Manic Sunday. Usually Sunday at my house is a day to sleep in, go to breakfast at the nearest IHOP, and do absolutely nothing of value.

But not today. Everyone has planned the day for us. We have a 1st birthday party for my nephew Charlie Damn, that year went fast.

Then we have a BBQ with my daughter-in-laws family, to meet her parents. You might ask, "If she is your daughter-in-law, then why didn't you meet her parents at the wedding?" Simple....

They didn't come. The day before the wedding her mom called and said they wouldn't be coming to the wedding cause her step dad was sick. Not "he's in the hospital in intesive care and may not make it" sick but walking pnemonia sick. I would have left his ass home with a bottle of asprin and some orange juice and jumped on the fastest plane - train- or automobile to be at my kids wedding. But she didn't and I do still hold a grudge and definately have some preconceived impressions of the woman. And none of them are good. (she also "missed" her high school graduation, you getting the picture)

So, we have to go "Meet the Parents" this afternoon and be cordial and sweet and act like it doesn't bother me how she has treated my daughter-in-law all her life. I have to be happy for DIL that her mom has started to show an interest in her life now that she is going to have a baby.

But if she f**ks with her again ... she will have to deal with my son AND me!

Have a nice day! :)

Eeekk... have fun.
I have a son-in-law who's parents treat him like the Black Sheep of the Family (he didn't become a lawyer like one sister, or marry a lawyer like his other sister). So I know how you feel.
They CAME to the wedding, but left a little early.
