I Apologize?

Okay Gang, I need to know how you would react to this letter I got in the mail today. But I have to give you alittle background here. Okay, alot of background. Bear with me.

Getting to Know You

Mom brought her new puppy, Tiger, over to meet the family a few days back. By "family" I mean my animals. See, Kermit the dog, is not the friendliest when it comes to "other animals" coming to visit. He wants them to know right off that he is the king of his domain and they will follow his rule. He has to be right in their face all the time making sure that they are not doing ANYTHING he deems inappropriate. Which is EVERYTHING!

But he must be getting old, because it was alot less painful than normal.

Then there is Beeker the cat. He just watches from a distance and has the look, "Geez, not another one!"

Tiger being the baby that he is, listened to all of Kerm's demands and spent most of the time in someones lap or arms. But he had never seen a "cat" before. He was quite intrigued.

Take a look.

Lions and Tigers, no Bears

Other than the guinea hen wanting to walk down the aisle BEFORE the bride, and the monkey playing with himself as the backdrop of the bride and groom saying their vows, THE WEDDING WAS AWESOME! But I guess you have to expect that when you have your wedding at the zoo.

The evening was a bit chilly but there were heaters and a fire (if you can call it that) at the outdoor reception. After one of the guys jumped in the fire pit to get it REALLY going, it was toasty warm.

The food was superb. It was catered by a restaurant in town called Fusion. We were all stuffed. There was lamb, steak tenderloin, portebello/squash lasagna, garlic mashed potatoes and salmon. And that was AFTER the appetizers of shrimp, crabmeat, veggie skewers, ceasar or spring salad, about 6 different cheeses and fruit.

The zoo had transported us from the wedding area to the reception area on the zoo train. But when we left, we had to find our way back in the dark to the area where the ZOO LIGHTS and the entrance are. That was alittle spooky knowing that we had driven past lions and tigers (no bears) to get there. But we all managed to get out of there without becoming zoo food. It was a great night.

Can You Say Oink!

Hubby ate ALL the leftover stuffing.

I don't think I like him anymore.

At the Zoo!

We are off to a wedding at the zoo! No really. People are getting married there.

A friend, I have known since high school, is finally getting married after 16 years with this guy. He really is a great guy for her and they have been living together most of that time. Don't ask why now, cause I don't know. And no she isn't pregnant.

But I am anxious to go to a wedding at the zoo. We have a really pretty zoo here. At Christmas time, they have "Zoo Light". They decorate the different area of the zoo with thousands and thousands of lights. There is even one area that they have a light show to music. We will get to enjoy that while we are there also.

So off we go. I will try to remember to fill you in when we get home.

God! It Smells So Good!

Everyone have the bestest Thanksgiving ever.

I was up bright and early this morning because I wanted to get to the grocery store before everyone else raced in.

7am: baking aisle of the local grocery store. Looking for WHITE bread machine mix. NADA - Empty - nothing - gone - no where to be found. The only thing left on my list and there wasn't a box to be found anywhere. I just couldn't use sourdough for my dressing bread. And I wasn't about to start from scratch. Not another store OH NO!

8 am: unloading a car full of groceries into the house, as the dog runs out the front door to pee on the nearest tree.

8:30 am: back on the road to find White Bread Machine mix and drop off the frozen turkey for the St. Mary's Food Bank.

9 am: running very low on gas. Quick find nearest gas station. Where are they when you need them.

9:30 am: Go over list.

  • shopping done ... CHECK

  • White Bread Machine mix found ...CHECK

  • Car filled with gas ... CHECK

  • Turkey dropped off at the food bank ... CHECK

Okay I can go home now to ...

Bake stuffing bread.
Bake pies.
Clean house for company tomorrow.
Clean up dog droppings in the backyard.
Mow the lawn.
Sweep the patio.
Chop down the tree.
Bail the hay.
Milk the cow.
Feed the goats.
Kill the turkey.

Okay I don't have ALL that stuff, but it sure feels like it.

I really DO LOVE Thanksgiving. No REALLY I do.

Got a Buck?

Doing my normal routine this morning, coffee, laundry, online news stories. I came across this.

Now my question to you is. . . What would YOU have done if you were these guys and had found the purse? Okay! Now would you have done the same thing if you KNEW there was $43,000 inside?

My answers in ...

And the Answers Are.....

1. This one time at Band Camp...Yep, I was there. TRUE! I was AT Band Camp as a chaperone for my son when HE was in band. And NO it wasn't like the line from American Pie. I have NEVER played an instrument But I had you going eh?

2. I once did a dine and dash (left without paying) at Denny's. TRUE! When hubby and I were dating, we stopped at Denny's for a late night snack at the end of our date. Just as we were finishing our food, he leaned over and kissed me. The waitress quickly came to the table and said, "I am sorry but you have to leave." We thought she was kidding cause we were necking in the booth. But she informed us "No REALLY, there is a FIRE in the kitchen. So the whole restaurant ran out and stood outside while the fire department went in to put out the grease fire. We waited around for about 20 mins, with the other customers. But since we couldn't get back in we left. Dine and Dash! Felt guilty about it for weeks. :)

I AM NOT a Liar!

Okay we are going to play "The 9 Things About Me, BUT One is a Lie" game.

I saw this at TenthMuse and decided to see how well you all know me. You will also notice that I removed the link to my "ABOUT ME" page. So if you read it before, you are well ahead of the rest.

So here are 9 things about me you might not have known. Eight are true and one is a BIG FAT LIE! Your job is to guess which one isn't true.

1. This one time at Band Camp....Yep, I was there.

2. I once did a dine and dash (left without paying) at Denny's.

It's a Dogs World

Dog Parks are awesome.

We weren't sure whether Kermit would "play fair" or not. He has a little man's complex. Feels the need to make everyone think he is a bad ass, by barking and puffing up. (typical man) But after the initial, "I am mean and going to kick your ass" routine from outside the fence. We ventured inside.

He did much better than I expected. Once he realized that most of the dogs were BIGGER than him he showed his true colors (chicken shit) and hid behind Daddy. Soon he was chasing the ball and even letting the other dogs share his water.

I didn't get any pictures at the park, but this one I did get.

What To Do, What To Do?

For the next three and a half days, Hubby and I are on "vacation". Although, we are not GOING anywhere, we don't have to work and are going to try to take advantage of it. No housework, no yardwork, just playing, sleeping and probably eating. Like we are out of town but the hotel room is our own home.

This afternoon we went out to Vee Quiva Casino. To try our luck with the "one armed bandits" and blackjack. Well, the slot machines kicked our asses, and the Black Jack tables were $10 minimum bet per hand. The one $5 minimum bet was way full. What's Up With That? We were at a frickin indian casino miles from nowhere with thoset kinds of minimum bets!

So we ate. Best thing we did. They have a "Jackpot Burger" with EVERYTHING on it. Half pound of beef with three cheeses, bacon, grilled onions, green chilis, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms served with french fries and onion rings. All for $6. Best deal in the house. I took half home in a doggy bag that my doggy will never see.

So we figured it out. Our $12 meal cost us about $92.

But It Doesn't Work

Want to know what kind of day I had today?

The Fight is ON!

So far today I (or I should say we here) have fought with:

The vet for not faxing Kermits prescription into the pharmacy. They told me that they did it Friday. Then they said they did it Saturday. Today they said that the pharmacy was closed Friday and Saturday. What happened to competent help these days.

The cable guy We have been having these funny (well not THAT funny) wavy lines running across the screen. The squirrelly lines started right after the cable company laid new cable a couple weeks ago. This was also about the time we got a bunch of rain. Anyway, cable guys said it is our lines inside the house. Hubby told him No! Took our 13 inch tv outside and plugged it into the cable line that goes into our house, (bypassing the house install) The lines were still there. So dude is sending out his boss.

Nothing gets fixed the first time. Why is that?

So off I go to work. Wonder who I get to yell at next?

Oh Damn Him

He ate the rest of "MY" Butter Pecan ice cream.

That is after he polished of "HIS" Cherry Vanilla, yesterday.

Damn HIM!

I Want to be a Rock Star!

When I came out of the movies on Weds. I notice a poster with upcoming events at the shopping mall. One happened to be a band that was playing the over the weekend. Well imagine my surprise when I recognized the lead singer of the band. Of course, it didn't hurt that the band happens to be named after him.

I knew this guy from cosmetology school. Back in the 80's. Hairstylist by day rock star by night. And "What a Cutie" We always had a great time talking and hanging at parties. He would always tell me about his "psycho" girlfriends and I would complain about my hubby. At one of these parties, I was talking to a girlfriend, hubby had gone to get more beer and this guy shuck up behind me, flipped me around and laid on a BIG kiss. Said, "I have wanted to do that for a long time" and dissappeared into the crowd. That is one of my all time happy memories.

We have seen each other a few times over the years. I find that he is playing someplace and head on over to watch. Hubby (not the one I complained about, my new and improved one) and I have gone to see him play a few times, also. He is really pretty good.

Maybe we will have to go check out the show. Ya think?

ALFIE?

If you don't know, don't bother going to see this movie. Other than the fact that you get to spend an hour and a half watching

Jude Law "do" several different women the plot sucked. I know it is a remake of the original starring Michael Caine as Alfie and I should have been prepared for the ending. But I wasn't!

I guess I am always looking for the movie to end . . .

If you intend to see this movie and DON'T want to know how it ends STOP READING NOW.

57 Year Old New Mom

If anyone can tell me WHY someone at 57 would want to have a child, please enlighten me.

When her twins are entering kindergarten, she will be about retirement age.

When the twins start High School, she will be 71. Older than most of the other kids grandmas.

When her kids become legal (21 in USA) she will be 3 years shy of 80.

Did this woman EVER think of what "the Kids" would have to go thru having a mother that age?

Selfish is the only word I can come up with.

Magical

Again my mother-in-law won tickets on the radio. She has won so much stuff that way, she has had to fill out a 1099 form for the Internal Revenue. I kid you not.

Lucky for me Father-in-law doesn't like to do concerts or plays or things that she usually wins. So alot of the time, I get to go with her.

So where did we go today, you ask?

Fish on Friday

I Think I Am Done!

Today, I only had to work, vote, eat dinner with Hubby, clean up after Kermit, who has decided that it is "oh so cool" to get into the recycleble garbage and see what is in there. So with all the left over time I did some tweeking on my Thanksgiving skin. If you don't see it, then click on "Change the Skin" and click on "Seasonal". Whaaaalaaaa!

I think I am done. Okay, I AM. I have other things to do. Like watch quality T.V. tonight. NOT! The Election "stuff" is on. Since we probably won't know who the new President is until sometime next year anyway, I am going to watch a movie or something.

Did YOU Vote?

If you DON"T vote, then you do not have the right to complain for the next four years. Okay, you can complain about the weather and stuff like that but NOT about ANYTHING Presidential.

SO GO VOTE! It's not to late. If you live in Wisconsin, you can even still register and vote. Alright, I am off my soapbox.

I voted...early...like 6:45am. Only about 6 people in line. I was home in 20 mins.

So whoever wins....Boy am I going to complain.

Can You Smell it Yet?

Just a quick Thanksgiving skin for your viewing pleasure. I still have some work to do on it but ran out of time. So hopefully I will be able to finish it up this week.
