If anyone can tell me WHY someone at 57 would want to have a child, please enlighten me.
When her twins are entering kindergarten, she will be about retirement age.
When the twins start High School, she will be 71. Older than most of the other kids grandmas.
When her kids become legal (21 in USA) she will be 3 years shy of 80.
Did this woman EVER think of what "the Kids" would have to go thru having a mother that age?
Selfish is the only word I can come up with.
Selfish, disgusting and a few other things come to my mind and as I read this. I love kids and wanted kids very bad and when I found out I had Multiple Sclerosis I gave up that dream because I knew I might not be able to be the mom I should be because at that time I was 35 and was going through fertility treatments and then wham MS too.
Who does she think is going to end up raising her child?

Selfish--try stupid, misguided and what's the strongest word I can think of...irresponsible! Someone else is going to be rearing those children--she won't have the energy or good health. It will either be another relative, the state or the children themselves who will suffer. I was just thinking the exact same thing this morning when I heard the news in the car--WHAT is she thinking? What kind of ethics do the doctors have who help her do this? It's crazy.
