Easter a couple days late

Had to share an Easter picture of my new granddaughter and her purple Easter bunny. All in all it was a great day. I even got everyone to play Bocce Ball with me. That is quite and accomplishment in my house.

Not Much to Say

I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. After being sick, I haven't had the energy to do anything, so not much to blog about.

Hubby now has, what I had. I gave him a big can of Lysol and told him to keep his distance. I have even been sleeping on the couch for the past few days. I don't want him breathing on me. I DON"T WANT IT BACK, Thank you very much.

He has missed a whole week of work, just like I did. But I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel. He isn't running a fever today, so I think he will live.

We are also starting our "Liver Cleansing Diet" this week. I am still reading and have to "detox" my house of all the "bad" food. I then have to head to the health food store and pick up all the "special" things that he needs to have.

This "diet" is loaded with fruits and veggies so I think it may kick start me to losing weight too. THAT I would like.

The Joe Cocker show last night was AWESOME. He is a legend (61 year old) and he still kicks ass.

He sang all his "oldies" like:

With a Little Help from My Friends
When the Night Comes
Up Where We Belong
Feeling Alright
You Can Leave Your Hat On
You Are So Beautiful

One of the best shows I have been to in along time. The Sax player was amazing and quite easy on the eyes. And within touching distance to boot. Altho, hubby wouldn't let me cop a feel. (I suppose the bouncer dude who was sitting right next to hubby, wouldn't have let me either)

They positioned Joe on stage, just out of spitting distance from the first row but we could see the whites of his eyes. Well, not the whites of his eyes but the reds of his eyes. :)

All in all a good evening.

Gonna Make the Attempt

I am going to "Try" to head on back to work today. I am feeling better but now I have that "weak from not being in anything but the prone position for a week" shaky feeling. Got to love it.

John Edward was great! Didn't get read but the experience is always amazing.

Went and picked up the "Joe Cocker" tickets my mother-in-law won on the radio station. We have front row seats for the show tomorrow. I am so glad that we will be able to see his "weird" movements up close and personal. If you have ever "seen" Joe Cocker sing you will understand that last comment.

His Cholesterol is WHAT!

One of the test that Dr. G - enter a strange India indian name here, ran last week was a cholesterol check.

I told Hubby, his cholesterol would be AWFUL. The man eats CRAP! He is a carboholic. If we go to a buffet where he can choose his own food, he comes back with a plate of mash potatoes, stuffing and corn and a couple of rolls. All piled together. No! I am NOT kidding.

The test are in.

When MaMa is Sick

This is what gets done!

I See Dead People

Back in Dec I bought tickets to John Edward.

Tomorrow is the day!

Seminar starts at 11:30. Doors open at 9:30. So we are meeting MIL there at 8am, "just in case" there is a line. I am hoping for breakfast at 8 instead.

I have never been psychic but I feel pretty good about someone in our group getting read tomorrow. Don't know why! Probably wrong! But I am excited about going.

This adventure will probably "kick my ass" since I have been pretty much flat on my back all week. No fever today but still pretty weak. "The Doctor" (a new after hours guy, who looked alot like Matthew Fox from Lost says I will live and prescribed all kinds of "stuff" to treat the symptoms, since this crud is probably viral and antibiotics wouldn't help a whole lot.

But if they have to carry me in on a stretcher, I am going! With my purse full of pharmaceuticals.

Happy Birthday! Bro!

Today is my brother's birthday. He is a year and a half older than me, so that makes him "VERY OLD".

When growing up we would fight like cats and dogs. Mostly it was "Mom! he hit me!" or "Dad! she hit me!" Just enough to get everyone riled up and the action going.

My brother had some very dorky friends. But as we got older I found that some of those "dorks" had turned into some pretty nice looking guys. And no matter how much I flirted and smiled and talked, NONE of them would give me much more than the time of day.

Well about 10 years after I was married and had kids of my own, I found out why.

She Sits Up

No, not the granddaughter she is only 3 1/2 weeks. I am talking about ME!

I have had the "killer" flu for the past two days. Thankfully no puking but fever, aches, cough, stuffy. I have been flat on my back since Monday night. So now my body is all sore from laying down constantly. And still feel the need to lay down. So I am propped here at my desk hoping to work some of the kinks out.

I am suppose to pick up my mother-in-law from the airport at noon. But I don't think I can handle managing the airport traffic and the 87 miles round trip to take her home. (She lives on the other side of the city from me). So Hubby is going to try to get off work early and do it for me. Love you Hubby!

I am grumpy and I have the stuffy coughing headachy crud!

I need NyQuil and bed. Hope this shit doesn't go into my chest. I hate being sick.

I have to go to work for at least a few hours. I guess I will just not breathe while I am there. At least I am only risking a few peoples lives. No one else works today but me. Just my clients and me.

I want go hide under the covers and not come out until .... maybe never.

Experiment 101

No coffee filters. OH NO!

What's a girl to do?

Hey I will use paper towel! Nope, none of those either. (I know I have to go shopping)

Will a napkin work? What do I have to lose?

  • unfold two napkins
  • lay into coffee filter basket
  • put in two scoops of coffee
  • use scissors to cut off all the "extra" napkin
  • insert basket into coffee maker
  • wait patiently for coffee to brew
  • Time to check the coffee.

Medical Update!

First the Dog Update.

Seems the "steroids" that he takes to keep the "discoid lupus" from eating away his nose, is causing the foot problem. According to "Dr Vet that I Don't Like" the tendons can get "loose and stretchy" when on steroids. So we are going to try to take him OFF the steroids and put him back on the Niacinamide and Tetracycline (6 pills a day). Hopefully his nose will not start rotting away again.

Kermit also got his “shots”.

Cost of treatment for Kerm: $102.00

Second the Hubby Update.

The NEW Doctor looked at the “wounds” on hubby’s shins and determined that they were “contact dermatitis” (NOT!) This is when I started to doubt that anyone in this whole office knows what they are talking about.

You see these “wounds” are old injuries such as scraps and cuts that just won’t heal. One of the scratches is from Kermit the Dog that happened about a year ago. It has never completely healed and still gets a scab on it. The only redeeming factor, was that she has ordered a blood workup to check his cholesterol and to see about diabetes.

Cost of treatment for Hubby: $20.00

I guess I have to keep the Hubby and get rid of the dog.

"Stuff"

I needed to add something so March wouldn't be so empty.

Can you believe it is MARCH? What the hell happened to Jan and Feb?

Have to take Hubby and Kermit the dog to the Doctor tomorrow. NO! Not to the same one.

I think Kermit is going to have to have doggie prosthesis. Did I talk about this already? I am too lazy to check back entries. I will take a picture instead.
