That Kicked My Ass

I just did a 35 min workout on my treadmill that kicked my ass. Max speed 4.5 Max incline 9. Not only did I get my heartrate up and break a good sweat, but I also worked a blister on my heel. OUCH!

Off to the showers.

Donde esta Costa Rica?

Our passports came today.

WE ARE GOING TO COSTA RICA! You know, that little country between Nicaragua and Panama in Central America. You know the one.

WooHoo!

The end of May we will be hanging out at this "poquito casa" for almost a week. (click one of the pictures for a pop-up of all the pictures) Check out that view!

So, now I have to brush up on my espanol. And thanks to Trinity over at Three Things, I can now do not only the tilde but also accents over the letters. woo hoo!) I ordered some cd's, "Learn Spanish in your Car". They are actually pretty good instruction, but I guess I am going to have to spend ALOT of time in my car, because there are 9 cd's. I am hoping to at least be able to understand people when they talk about me, as I walk by. LOL

I am soo jazzed.

Lunch Date

Hubby call this morning and asked if I wanted to meet him for lunch. I thought about it for a second and answered. "Sure that would be great!"

Now, I go to lunch with people all the time but "lunch" with Hubby when he is at work is something I don't do often. WHY? you ask.

Hubby happens to work 35 miles from home. Now the drive it not bad, cause it is all freeway and it takes about 40 mins when the traffic is light and that takes up about 2 hours of my day-off. I got "shit" to do!

He is worth it, so off I went to meet Hubby for lunch at "Chipotle". That place has mighty fine food. Actually, I think it has "crack" in it, cause it is highly addicting.

Josh and Niki introduced it to me several months ago and I have to go back every other week or so. If I get a chicken burrito bowl with veggies and beans it is still on our "diet". Woot!

Thanks for Lunch, Honey!

Update on the Dorks at BW

For three days there was no charge on my MasterCard for the AWFUL hotel room we had to deal with over the weekend.

But it didn't last. A charge for the room showed up, but along with that there was a credit of the same amount. So they DIDN'T charge us for the room.

BUT....

There was ANOTHER charge of $20.97 from Best Western, that I have no idea what it is for. I turned in a dispute, at Mastercard, for the new $20.97 charge and will call Mastercard AND Best Western Corp. office tomorrow.

What do you suppose the NEW charge is for? Any guesses?

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE:
Best Western called back and they are crediting BOTH charges. They didn't tell me what the $20.96 was for, so it is still a mystery.

I also got an apology letter from The Prescottonian. Rather a generic form letter that ended with,

"We look forward to serving your future hotel needs in Prescott."

Yeah! Like THAT is ever going to happen.

Romantic Weekend?

Could somebody please look!

Do I have F*CK ME written on my forehead anywhere?

No, no, look closer, it HAS to be there.

Because everywhere we went on Saturday, proves it.

Please continue reading. It is VERY LONG!

Are Your Taxes Done?

Well you better get busy!

Mine have been done for quite awhile. I even got my $3 State refund direct deposited into my bank within 6 days. Man, they are fast. :|

Of course the nearly $2000 that I had to pay federal, was charged on my Discover card even faster. It was charged BEFORE my tax form was OK'd thru Turbo Tax. Good thing I did it right!

Oh well! It's only money, Right?

Happy Income Tax Day, folks.

Wouldn't you think that a teller, or anyone who works at a bank for that matter, should be able to count?

I noticed a suspicious charge on one of my accounts this morning when I was doing some banking stuff. So I called the bank and asked what it was.

Seems they deducted $21 from my account for a "wrong" deposit.

To give you alittle insite into ME. I am so very anal about my check register, deposits, statements. Anything that has to do with numbers and money, I double - triple - sometimes yes I even quadriple check the addition. Okay, it is a sickness and I should probably get help but . . .

Now that you know that...

Please go to the extended

BBQ's are NOT the Same

What a busy Sunday! Weekends like this make me want another day added on, so I can just kick back and do nothing.

We did yard work and house work this morning. But the house is along way from being done. (cleaning all those disgusting ceiling fans took most of the morning) But the yard looks great.

Then we were off to a birthday party for a girlfriend that I use to work with. Regular BBQ with hamburgers, brats, chips and dips. The usual BBQ fare. But unfortunately that is NOT the stuff that Hubby (or I) can eat on this new diet. So we survived on a couple of chips, a whole lot of water and a brocolli-cauliflower dip/salad that one of the other girls brought. Hubby was amazed that there wasn't a veggie tray or fruit tray. But I reminded him that it wasn't that long ago that our BBQ's were EXACTLY like that.

So we came home and had a BBQ of our own with the "kids" and grandbaby. Chicken, red potatoes, veggie tray and crusty bread. Yeah! all that is on our diet. We just have to only eat until we are almost full and not STUFFED like the Thanksgiving day turkey.

I am hoping that when I get on the scale tomorrow morning that I will have hit my 10 lb lost mark. I was 1/2 lb away from it this morning. Hubby has lost almost 18lbs. So this thing IS working.

Ponder This!

Can sombody tell me how a ceiling fan, that is on almost all the time, can get so much dust and grime on it?

Shouldn't it all blow off when it is spinning around hour after hour after hour?

I just don't get it.

The Smell is Killing Me

I went to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for dinner, today. I just happened to turn down the coffee aisle.

OH MY GOD! It smelled amazing. That yummy smell of fresh ground coffee.

I have been off coffee for about a month now. I WANT SOME BAD!

I have had to fight my car several times this week to keep it from pulling into the Starbuck's parking lot. I have even stopped going to the Albertson's next to the shop because there is a mini Starbuck's in there.

I think I am going to cave. I have just enough left on my Starbuck's Gift Card for a venti Carmel Frappucino. Guys! It's calling my name!

"MY" liver is fine. I may just have to splurge, tomorrow.

For ME?

Sunday of Fun

Today is a day of rest and relaxation.

That is after I:

Get the laundry done.
Have lunch with the "Girls from Minnesota" (dontcha know)
Visit with the family after lunch.
Fold and hang up clothes.

I may be able to squeak some rest and relaxation in there.

The "Girls from Minnesota" are cousins of my Mom's. They come down to Phoenix every year to soak in some sun and fun. Hubby swears that they are right out of the movie, "Fargo". You betcha Honey, people really do talk like that. He is just amazed. He has lead such a sheltered existence.

p.s. if you haven't seen the movie "Fargo" go rent it. It really is a kick.

RIP Pope John Paul II

Pope John Paul II (1920-2005 ) was said to be the most recognized person in the world. He was the most traveled Pope in the 2,000 year history of the Church and speaks eight languages. Born Karol Joseph Wojtyla (pronounced Voy-tee-wah) in Wadowice, Poland on May 18, 1920 to an administrative officer in the Polish army and a former schoolteacher. In 1978, at the age of 58 the College of Cardinals elected him to lead the Roman Catholic Church. He was the first non-italian chosen as Pope in 456 years and the youngest in this century.

Happy April Fools Day

Thank God March is over.

March was not a good month for me. I think I was sick most of it and I DON"T like being sick. First the flu, then, Hubby had my flu. Now I am getting over the cold thing with the awful cough and killer headache. I WANT TO BE WELL!

Today, Hubby and I "officially" start the "diet". We have mostly been doing it for the past week and it hasn't been too bad. We both have already lost about 5 lbs. We can't really tell if we "feel better" or not since we are both still recovering from the "crud".

Little K (new name for my new granddaughter) is now 12lbs 9 oz. She had a Dr. appointment yesterday and got her first set of shots. She was not happy, but I think it was harder on her mom who had to listen to her cry. If you are interested in seeing how she is progressing there is a link to the left. It is password protected but if you ask for the info in a comment I will probably give it to you. :)

So... what was YOUR best April Fool's Joke today?
