Wow! What a trip!
Costa Rica is beautiful. I was really impressed how helpful and friendly the people were. With my "broken" espaol and alittle sign language I was able to communicate. Of course, having my brother with us helped a whole lot. He has managed to remember the Spanish that he learned in school.
The roads are quite a trip. They are like the back roads up into the mountains. Some are paved, most are not. The road to the house was a twisty curvy dirt road that would start running with water when it rained. One side was mountain, the other side was cliff. Quite exciting.
The beaches were beautiful and the water was quite warm. Quite a change from the beaches in San Diego where we normally go.
The food was unbelievable. We had camarones (shrimp), langosta (lobster), pollo (chicken) and of course, margaritas. The price was right! I think the most expensive lobster was 9500 colones which is about $20. That was for more food than we could eat. It was Hubby's paradise.
The best part of the trip was the Congo Canopy Tour.
We are home from Costa Rica!
What fun!
Very tired!
Luggage made it everywhere but home. Lost it on the last leg.
Costa Rica was awesome.
Details tomorrow with picture.
M U S T G O T O B E D N OW!
Hasta luego. Manana!
Shhhh, the baby is asleep. So I am typing quietly.
When Kaylin (the granddaughter - for those who don't know) was born I requested that I get to babysit once a week. I am lucky that I get to have "at least" my weekly fix of Kaylin on Wednesdays. "The Kids" live about 55 miles from us (one way) so they bring her over on Tuesday night and Kaylin spends the night with Grammy and Grandpa.
WE LOVE IT!
Here is a quick peek of her busy schedule!
I got one of those emails today with all the cute and funny pictures. You know the ones! They are usually from your friends or relatives who have too much time on their hands.
One of the pictures I found quite funny but also alittle alarming.
Check it out!
I swear I left a message this morning telling all you Mother's out there
Happy Mother's Day.
But somewhere it go lost cause it's not here now. So here it is again.
We had all our Mothers' over for brunch this morning. There were 14 of us and it was great. I worked my ass off in the kitchen but most of it I did last night since it was the "refrigerate overnight" kind of stuff.
My kids even humored me and we had a rip roaring game of Bocce Ball. For those of you that don't know Bocce Ball click here. No, it isn't us, but at least you can see what we played.
My boys just LOVE to play Bocce Ball. NOT! At least they moan everytime I say, "LET"S PLAY BOCCE BALL". But since it was Mother's day, EVERYONE played. And I think that they really really DO LIKE to play, but I think it is more the competitive factor then actually liking the game.
Hubby go so into it he tried to knock the sh*t out of one of the other balls. But he only managed to slam his into the brick fence and break it. It was a real "BALL BUSTER". Hee Hee get it! Ball buster? Okay I am tired, I am going to bed now.
Next time, give Hubby instructions on how to do a bikini wax BEFORE the wax is too hot. On second thought, DON'T let Hubby do your next bikini wax.
This Sunday is Mother's Day! (just incase you have a Mother, DON"T FORGET!)
We are having all the family over for brunch. There will be 13 of us!
What I need is some good brunch recipes. The type that you can make ahead and pop in the oven. You know, the kind of recipe that doesn't keep you tied to the kitchen while everyone else is sitting around shooting the breeze.
So HELP! Anyone have a favorite brunch type recipe?
I am going to do yardwork today. I think! Nice day. Company coming over next week. Better get my butt in gear and get it ready for Mother's Day.
Off I go.
We "doggy sat" my MIL dog this weekend.
Damn, I thought Kermit the dog was irritating! Buffy is a little fox terrier that is neurotic as any I have ever seen. And for those who have never met Kermit the dog, HE is pretty neurotic.
Buffy paces! And Paces! AND PACES. All the while, you hear her little tags clanging together. Okay, maybe not CLANGING, but when you hear them at 2 am it sure sounds like CLANGING.
And she yaps. Yap Yap Yap Yap Yap! I guess I am just not use to all that little dog stuff.
But she is also a cuddler. I like that part. She sits in your lap or next to you and cuddles. So I guess that makes up for the rest. Almost!
But she went home so there is no more CLANGING! Peace.
