Jury duty went as expected.
I left the house at 6:50am, an hour and ten minutes early, for the 35 minute drive to the Municipal Court downtown Phoenix. AFTER I got on the freeway I noticed that there was not enough gas in the car to get me there. Of course, I had already passed all my "known" gas stations in my area. So I pulled off the bumper to bumper freeway in search of gas. To make a long story shorter, I whittled away my 30 minute safety zone and made it to the Jury Assembly room with a whole 2 minutes to spare.
There was a white board with a list of all the cases that were to be heard today. There were ten. Woo Hoo! I should be able to get on ONE of them right?
The day went like this:
- Doughnut and coffee
- Chit chat with a few other juror prospects
- Watched the movie "National Treasure"
- the list was now down to 3
- Lunch from 11:45 to 1:30 - who the hell needs THAT long for lunch
- Back to the Jury Room to watch the movie "Radio"
Just as the movie was getting to the "good" part we were told we could go home. That was at 2:45pm.
So AGAIN I never left the Assembly Room to go into the courtroom.
AND now I have to rent the movie "Radio" to see how it ends.

How cool though that they show movies for you though!!!
