Is This Pimping?

Hubby wasn't very interested in the new Xbox 360 when it was about to come out, so he didn't preorder one. I really don't know why he didn't, because he has almost every other console that has ever been made, but he didn't. AND he wasn't about to stand in line for 12 hours in the hopes that he might be one of the lucky ones to get one of the limited few that were being shipped to the stores.

Both of the "Boys" got theirs. One preordered and the other stood in line with his pregnant wife, (but they are crazy like that, and they swore to me that she sat down the whole time).

Hubby has decided HE WANTS ONE!

So I am being pimped! At least that is what I call it.

He has signed up for one of those "If you get 8 others to sign up then you get a free one" deals. And he seems to think that I have a massive amount of "Blogging Friends" (yeah right) so he asked me to put up his "Help get Hubby a FREE X-Box 360 LINK".

Now, if any of you 8 people that read my blog have a "Massive amount of Blogging Friends" that want to send them my way that would be cool.

Maybe there IS a Santa Claus!

p.s. there is a link on the sidebar also.

Happy Day Before Turkey Day

I think I am ready!

Well almost! The house is "almost" clean. But what the heck it is only the "boys" and the "girls" and my Mom. They know what my house looks like clean.

Have to do one more run to the store for the "little stuff" and then put that pumpkin pie in the oven. Tonight is for Hubby and I to relax and watch Survivor.

If I don't get to post tomorrow....

Everyone have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! Go ahead - eat to much!

Anyone?

Anyone know where I can get an X Box 360 that went on sale today? And no I won't pay $700 for one.

WAKE UP!

I was all snuggled under the covers, of my nice toasty, warm, king bed, when Hubby kissed me good-bye as he was heading out to work at 5:15 am. So I rolled over, patted the dog, who had replaced Hubby on his half of the bed, and fell back to sleep.

I was startled awake by the LOUD ringing of the phone. I rolled over and looked at the clock. After seeing that it was 6 AM, there was now panic in my nice peaceful, toasty, warm life. No one in MY world calls MY house at 6 am unless it involves bleeding, unconsciousness or death.

In panic mode, I whip off the covers, grab the bedside phone, "Hello?" "HELLO!" no answer. All my phones have caller id, but that doesn't really do me any good when I have jumped out of bed in a panic and don't have my glasses on.

Thousands of awful thoughts are running through my head,

  • Hubby was in an accident on the way to work
  • Something has happened to one of the boys
  • Little K has fallen out of the crib
  • Someone is bleeding, unconscious or dead

Now the dog, who was all sprawled belly side up on "his" side of the bed sound asleep too, senses that he should be doing SOMETHING. So he spends several seconds trying to right himself as he barks and carries on like he is going to rip SOMETHING a new Asshole. He jumps off the bed and crashes right into the cat who is just wandering in to find out what all the hubbub is about. The cat screeches and runs off down the hall, dog in tow.

The phone has gone dead. I fumble around to find my glasses so I can see who is in trouble. Needing my help so early in the morning. Dog is barking, Cat is hiding somewhere. (I still haven't seen him this morning) Finally get the glasses on the face and hit caller id....

Another reason NOT to leave your windows open.

Bird Nearly Ruins Dominoes Record AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - A sparrow knocked over 23,000 dominoes in the Netherlands, nearly ruining a world record attempt before it was shot to death Monday, the state news agency reported.

The unfortunate bird flew through an open window at an exposition center in the northern city of Leeuwarden where employees of television company Endemol NV have worked for weeks setting up more than 4 million dominoes in an attempt to break the official Guinness World Record for falling dominoes on Friday night.

Only a system of 750 built-in gaps in the chain prevented the bird from knocking most or all of the dominoes over ahead of schedule, "Domino Day" organizers were quoted as saying by the NOS news agency.

The bird was shot by an exterminator with an air rifle while cowering in a corner.

The organizers are out to break their own record of 3,992,397 dominoes set last year with a new record of 4,321,000.

Poor bird! Cowering in the corner. Why not catch it with a net? Dorks!

Eagles STILL Rock

"The Eagles" concert was awesome last night.

For a bunch of "old guys" they still sound great. Joe Walsh had a bit of trouble hitting some of his old notes but he covered well. They all look like they are in good shape, after all the years of drugs and drinking. Joe once said, he decided it was time to clean up when he started to see all his friends dying from drugs and alcohol.

They arrived on the stage at 7:50 for a 7:30 concert with the song, "Take It Easy". Then spent the next 2 and a half hours playing all the old hit of the Eagles plus few of the individual hits of Don Henley, Glenn Fry, Joe and Timothy Schmitt.

The first encore was the classic, "Hotel California".

Now if there was a way to not let "idiots" into the building it would have been a totally enjoyable experience. Even though the concert started 20 mins late, there were still at least 50 people that had to find their seats AFTER the concert was going. So the first 30 mins of the show was looking over and around people.

I had to laugh at the lady in front of Hubby. She had EVERY flashy, blinky, lighted object known to man. And she used them all at the same time. I thought the spotlight had turned on US! As she was dancing in her seat, twirling and waving all the "Bling", I think she spent more time looking at the blinky stuff than the band.

Quite a place to people watch - that's for sure!

Cold Sweats

I have a migraine brewing and I have to go to work.

:(

I sure hope the headache pills kick in soon.

WOW! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas is around the next one.

I am not a big "holiday" person. I use to be as a kid. But that was back in the day when:

  • I just had to show up at the mall to sit on Santa's lap

  • I only had to get gifts for mom - dad - and Bro. And that was easy, I just made them things out of tin cans with macaroni glued on and sprayed gold with a bit of glitter.

  • all I had to do was stay in bed until 6 am on Christmas morning. That worked, except the year I woke up and had to go potty. I couldn't resist the urge to look in the livingroom. There I spied the best "Barbie Dream House" you ever saw. Then I couldn't get back to sleep.

I even enjoyed it when the kids were little. Then I only had to:

  • get them to the mall to sit on Santa's lap.

  • shop for toys that they had already picked out from the flyers that the toy stores sent out

  • keep them in bed until 6am while I was up earlier drinking my morning coffee before the "day" arrived.

But somewhere along the line, it became less fun. More work. More commercial.

I think it stems from the fact that I feel the need to try to make everyone happy. To make arrangements that will please EVERYONE! When it was just the kids and I, it was easier. Now there are more players in the game and it is just not possible to do that anymore.

Just let me get through the holiday season without hurting anyones feelings.

So I start with Thanksgiving. The turkey will be in the oven by 8am and dinner will be around 2pm. If that works for you, let me know so I can put on some extra potatoes.

Perfect Baby Keyboard

For those of you who might have to sit at your computer and hold a baby at the same time, you know that the keyboard is a big attraction to the wee little one.

I have this problem when Little K is over. She loves to type Instant Messages to Grandpa. But it is really REALLY hard to get anything that makes sense done when she wants to type away.

So I have found the PERFECT baby keyboard.

Check it out in the extended.

One Down Two to Go

Halloween is over. The kids started out slow but by the end of the night we had quite a few. Got rid of all the Butterfingers and Snickers but I still have a whole bunch of "Smarties".

Little K came over to trick - r - treat at grandma's house.

She lasted for 3 houses. She was quite interested in all the weird neighbors wandering the street, though.

Of course, Daddy and Grandpa macked all the candy she brought home.

Now that we got through Halloween, all we have left are Thanksgiving and Christmas. The count down is on.
