WAKE UP!

I was all snuggled under the covers, of my nice toasty, warm, king bed, when Hubby kissed me good-bye as he was heading out to work at 5:15 am. So I rolled over, patted the dog, who had replaced Hubby on his half of the bed, and fell back to sleep.

I was startled awake by the LOUD ringing of the phone. I rolled over and looked at the clock. After seeing that it was 6 AM, there was now panic in my nice peaceful, toasty, warm life. No one in MY world calls MY house at 6 am unless it involves bleeding, unconsciousness or death.

In panic mode, I whip off the covers, grab the bedside phone, "Hello?" "HELLO!" no answer. All my phones have caller id, but that doesn't really do me any good when I have jumped out of bed in a panic and don't have my glasses on.

Thousands of awful thoughts are running through my head,

  • Hubby was in an accident on the way to work
  • Something has happened to one of the boys
  • Little K has fallen out of the crib
  • Someone is bleeding, unconscious or dead

Now the dog, who was all sprawled belly side up on "his" side of the bed sound asleep too, senses that he should be doing SOMETHING. So he spends several seconds trying to right himself as he barks and carries on like he is going to rip SOMETHING a new Asshole. He jumps off the bed and crashes right into the cat who is just wandering in to find out what all the hubbub is about. The cat screeches and runs off down the hall, dog in tow.

The phone has gone dead. I fumble around to find my glasses so I can see who is in trouble. Needing my help so early in the morning. Dog is barking, Cat is hiding somewhere. (I still haven't seen him this morning) Finally get the glasses on the face and hit caller id....

It was a flippin TELEMARKETER! I was livid. We are on the DO NOT CALL LIST. We have had 7 calls from the area code 214-446-blah blah blah in the past 10 days. Five of them in the last two days. The last 4 digits are always different.

We have all calmed down now. I am not as toasty warm as I was but all 7 calls have been turned into the DO NOT CALL Registry

And I am glad to say that no one was "bleeding", "unconscious", or "dead".

How was YOUR morning?

Oh I would have been livid too!! Not only should they not call but they really shouldn't call early in the morning.

It may have been a place doing a survey. Those are still allowed to call anyone they want because they're not selling anything. We get those too, even one at 7am. Fortunately for them, I did not hear the phone.
